ADC reference voltage
Also: Vref
The voltage scale against which an ADC interprets input.
Reference error and noise become gain error in converted results; input must remain within allowed range and source conditions.
- Units
- volt (V)
Example With 3.3 V reference and 12 bits, one ideal code is about 0.806 mV.
Common misconception The reference is not always exactly the board's labeled supply voltage.
