Power rail
Also: supply rail
A shared conductor or network distributing a named supply voltage.
A rail has source impedance, current limits, return paths, transients, and tolerance rather than being an ideal voltage everywhere.
Example The 3.3 V rail powers logic while a separate motor rail carries switching current.
Common misconception Two nets with the same nominal voltage are not automatically safe to join.
