Buffer overflow
Also: queue overflow
An attempt to add data beyond available bounded storage.
Valid policies include reject, back-pressure, drop-oldest, drop-newest, or escalation, selected from loss and ordering requirements.
Example A full command queue rejects an ordinary command and reports queue-full when loss is forbidden.
Common misconception Silent overwrite is not acceptable merely because the data structure is circular.
