Motion limit
Also: kinematic limit, rate limit
A bound on position, speed, acceleration, jerk, torque, or another motion quantity.
Limits come from geometry, actuator capability, traction, payload, comfort, cables, and safety, and need enforcement plus fault behavior.
Example Cap camera-pan acceleration to reduce blur even if the motor could accelerate faster.
Common misconception Software limits do not replace physical stops or validated safe-energy design.
