Interface
Also: system boundary
A defined boundary through which components exchange power, data, forces, or services.
An interface specifies connector or call, direction, units, timing, valid range, ownership, startup, and faults.
Example A motor command interface names percent duty, sign, update rate, and stale-command response.
Common misconception Two components are not compatible merely because their plugs or function names match.
