Integration
Also: accumulation, system integration
Depending on context, either accumulating small contributions mathematically or joining subsystems through tested interfaces.
A definite integral is a limit of weighted sums; system integration instead verifies that electrical, data, timing, mechanical, and behavioral contracts work together.
- Formula
Δx = ∫v dt (mathematical scope)
Example Multiply velocity samples by Δt to estimate travel; separately, stage sensor and motor integration from a known-good baseline.
Common misconception Raw sample addition is not numerical integration, and individually passing subsystems do not prove the integrated system works.
