Deadline
Also: timing deadline
The latest time by which a computation or action must complete.
Real-time correctness includes value and timing; relative deadlines are compared using monotonic, rollover-safe time arithmetic.
Example A watchdog must command zero output within 150 ms of stale input.
Common misconception Finishing eventually is not correct when the action has a deadline.
