Battery cutoff
Also: low-voltage cutoff, protection cutoff
A threshold at which circuitry disconnects charge or discharge to protect the battery or system.
Cutoff behavior includes threshold, delay, hysteresis, current, temperature, and recovery conditions and may differ between charger, pack, and load.
Example A power bank may shut off when a small load falls below its detection current.
Common misconception Cutoff is not evidence the remaining chemical energy is exactly zero.
