Continuity
Also: continuity test
Evidence that two points are joined by a sufficiently low-resistance path.
A meter sources a small test signal and beeps below an instrument-specific threshold; parallel paths can affect the result.
Example With power removed, a cable conductor should beep end-to-end but not to adjacent conductors.
Common misconception A beep does not prove a connection will carry operating current safely.
