Circuit branch
Also: branch path
A connection between two nodes containing one or more series elements and one branch current.
Branches define graph edges for Kirchhoff analysis; all elements in a non-splitting branch share current.
Example A resistor and LED in series between two nodes form one branch.
Common misconception A branch is not simply any visual line segment on a schematic.
