Bias
Also: systematic offset
A repeatable tendency for results to lie on one side of the target.
Statistical bias is expected estimate minus true parameter; sensor bias often appears as offset or scale error and accumulates when integrated.
Example A thermometer reading 0.7 °C high across trials has an offset bias.
Common misconception Taking more samples reduces random noise but does not automatically remove bias.
