Angular speed
Also: rotational speed, ω
How quickly an angle changes with time.
Angular speed is magnitude of angular velocity; rad/s connects naturally to tangential speed and rotational power.
- Units
- radian per second (rad/s)
- Formula
ω = dθ/dt; v = rω
Example 3000 rpm is about 314 rad/s.
Common misconception rpm and rad/s cannot be substituted without conversion.
